My Story

Why India Changed My Life

I have always been in love with India

I come from a very poor village in Poland. Back then, India felt even further away than Mars feels today. Visiting India and seeing the Taj Mahal was my biggest dream, but I could never afford it.

Even so, I regularly donated to Animal Aid Unlimited in Udaipur because I wanted to help in some way.

After a difficult period in my personal life, I took out a loan just to buy a plane ticket to India. I travelled to Udaipur and worked as a volunteer at Animal Aid Unlimited.

India completely took my breath away.

Its beauty, its culture, its colours and even the smell of incense fascinated me. Even now, while I am writing these words, tears come to my eyes because I miss India so much.

When I returned to Germany, I missed India deeply.

For years, I started helping Indians in Facebook groups. I helped with paperwork, finding apartments, moving, everyday problems and advice about life in Germany.

Through this, I met many wonderful people. More importantly, I also learned about the challenges they face when trying to build a life in Germany.

Later, together with an Indian partner from Pune, I founded an import-export company in Pune and Hamburg. Unfortunately, we lost the company during the COVID pandemic.

During the pandemic, I started learning Hindi.

Step by step, through many different ideas, changes and new experiences, Germandia was born.

Today, my heart belongs to India and to the Indian people.

That is why I want to help Indian IT Professionals build successful careers in Germany.

Over time, I realized how ambitious many Indians are. Until they can speak perfectly, they prefer not to speak at all. Until they reach C2 level, they don’t feel confident enough. This high standard is admirable but it can also slow them down.

That’s why I wrote the book “Deutsch sprechen ohne Angst” (Speaking German Without Fear) and dedicated it to India. The cover deliberately features the colors of the Indian national flag. It’s my small contribution, a simple method for learning German at home, without expensive courses and without the pressure to be perfect. The book is available on Amazon.

Today, through Germandia, I help Indian IT Professionals understand the German hiring system, optimize their CVs and applications, and improve their chances of building successful careers in Germany.

Over the years, I have seen many highly qualified professionals struggle to find the opportunities they deserve. Some have even had to leave Germany, despite having excellent qualifications, valuable experience and a strong desire to build their future here.

India has given me so much over the years. Through Germandia, I want to give something back to a country that means a great deal to me and to people whose ambition, resilience and determination I deeply admire.
